- This medicine has been prescribed for you only. Do not pass it on to others, even if they have the same symptoms as you, as it may be harmful.

1. What is BRUNITRAV and what it is used for
BRUNITRAVcontains travoprost, a substance belonging to the group of drugs called prostaglandin analogues.
It works by lowering intraocular pressure. It can be used alone or in
addition to other eye drops such as beta-blockers, which are also able to reduce pressure.
BRUNITRAVeye drops are used to treat high intraocular pressure in adults. This pressure can
lead to a condition called glaucoma.
2. What you need to know before using BRUNITRAV
Do not use BRUNITRAV:
- if you are allergic to travoprost or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using BRUNITRAV
- The use of BRUNITRAV is not recommended in individuals under the age of 18. Consult your doctor if you fall into this age group.
- BRUNITRAV may increase the length, thickness, colour and/or number of your eyelashes and may cause unusual hair growth on your eyelids.
- BRUNITRAV may change the colour of your iris (the coloured part of the eye). This change may be permanent
- BRUNITRAV may rarely cause difficulty breathing or shortness of breath or worsen the symptoms of asthma. Inform your doctor immediately if you notice that the use of BRUNITRAV causes changes in your breathing.
- BRUNITRAV may be absorbed through the skin. If any amount of product comes into contact with the skin, wash immediately. This is particularly important for women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
Children and adolescents
BRUNITRAV is not recommended in patients under the age of 18.
Other medicines and BRUNITRAV
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might
take any other medicines.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding and fertility
If you are pregnant, suspect you may be pregnant, are planning a pregnancy, or are breastfeeding with
breast milk, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Pregnancy
Do not use BRUNITRAV if you are pregnant. Talk to your doctor immediately if you think you are
pregnant. If there is a possibility of becoming pregnant, use effective contraception
during treatment.
Breastfeeding
Do not use BRUNITRAV if you are breastfeeding, BRUNITRAV may be excreted in breast milk.
Driving and using machines
You may experience blurred vision for a certain period after using BRUNITRAV. Do not
drive or use machines until these symptoms have disappeared.
BRUNITRAV contains Benzalkonium chloride.It may cause eye irritation. Benzalkonium chloride is known to discolour soft contact lenses. Avoid contact with soft contact lenses.
Remove contact lenses before application and wait at least 15 minutes before
reinserting them.
3. How to use BRUNITRAV
Use this medicine following exactly the instructions of your doctor or pharmacist. If you have
any doubts, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The usual dose is 1 drop in the eye(s), once a day –in the evening.
BRUNITRAV can only be used as an eye drop.
Instructions for use
- 1. Before using this medicine for the first time, make sure that the safety seal is not tampered with or broken.
- 2. Wash your hands and sit or stand comfortably.
- 3. Unscrew the cap.
- 4. Remove the safety seal from the bottle.
- 5. Use your fingers to gently lower the lower eyelid of the affected eye.

- 6. Position the tip of the bottle close to your eye or eyelid, avoiding contact between the dropper tip and the eyelids / surroundings or other surfaces due to the resulting risk of contamination and serious eye infection.

- 7. Gently squeeze the bottle so that only one drop goes into the eye and release the lower eyelid.

If a drop does not enter the eye, try again.
- 8. After using BRUNITRAV, press with a finger on the corner between your eye and your nose for 2 minutes. This helps to prevent BRUNITRAV from entering the circulation in the rest of the body.

- 9. Repeat in the other eye if your doctor has told you to do so.
- 10. Put the cap back on the bottle.
The dropper is designed to deliver a single drop; DO NOT widen the hole in the dropper cap.
After dispensing all doses, a small amount of medicine will remain in the bottle. Do not worry
because an extra amount of BRUNITRAV has been added and you have used the entire amount of
BRUNITRAV that your doctor has prescribed. Do not try to remove the excess medicine from the
bottle.
If you use more BRUNITRAV than you should
immediately wash your eye with lukewarm water. Do not use the eye drops until the time of the next dose.
If you forget to use BRUNITRAV
continue treatment with the next dose as scheduled. Do not take a double dose to
make up for missed doses. Never use more than one drop a day per affected eye(s).
If you stop using BRUNITRAV
without talking to your doctor, the intraocular pressure will not be controlled with possible
loss of vision.
If you wear soft contact lenses.Do not use the eye drops while wearing the lenses. Wait 15 minutes after
using the eye drops before putting the lenses back in.
If you are using other eye drops at the same time, allow at least 5 minutes between instilling
BRUNITRAV and instilling the other drops.
If you have any doubts about the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist
4. Possible side effects
Like all medicines, BRUNITRAV can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

are severe. If you are concerned, contact your doctor or pharmacist. Do not stop treatment with
BRUNITRAV without talking to your doctor.
The following side effects have been reported with the use of the active substance of BRUNITRAV in clinical

Very common side effects(affect more than 1 in 10 users)
Effects on the eye:Redness, changes in the color of the iris (colored part of the eye)
Common side effects(affect 1 to 10 users in 100)
Effects on the eye:Intraocular inflammation, pain or swelling, irritation, discharge, sensitivity
to light, blurred, reduced or abnormal vision, dryness, itching, increased tearing,
abnormal or reduced sensation; irritation, itching, redness, pain, swelling or crusting of the
eyelids; alteration of the color of the eyelashes, increase or decrease in the growth or
number of eyelashes.
Effects on the body:Headache, darkening of the skin around the eye(s).
Uncommon side effects(affect 1 to 10 users in 1,000)
Effects on the eye:Inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva (conjunctivitis) or cornea,
halo vision, corneal pathology, allergy, tired eyes, increased pupil size.
Effects on the body:Asthma, shortness of breath, increased or decreased blood pressure, irregular
heartbeat, reduced or increased, dizziness, viral infection, cough, widespread weakness, increased
allergy symptoms, sore throat, nasal congestion, voice changes, gastrointestinal discomfort or ulcer, dry
mouth, constipation, redness or itching of the skin,
shoulder pain, bad taste.
Further side effects reported include:
Effects on the eye:Inflammation of the back of the eye, sunken eyes.
Effects on the body: worsening of asthma, ringing in the ears, increased prostate antigen.
If any of these side effects get serious, or if you notice any side effects not
listed in this leaflet, please inform your doctor or pharmacist.

information on the safety of this medicine.
5. How to store BRUNITRAV
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use BRUNITRAV after the expiry date which is stated on the vial after SCAD. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
This medicine does not require any particular storage conditions.
To prevent infections, you must discardthe vial four weeks after first openingand start a new vial. Write the date of opening the vial in the designated space on each vial label and on the carton.
Do not dispose of any medicine in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines you no longer use. This will help protect the environment.
6. Contents of the pack and other information
What BRUNITRAV contains
- The active substanceis travoprost 40 micrograms/ml.
- Other components are:Benzalkonium chloride, Macrogol-15-hydroxystearate, Trometamol, Boric acid, Disodium edetate, Mannitol and Water for injections. Small quantities of hydrochloric acid or sodium hydroxide are added to adjust the pH.
Description of the appearance of BRUNITRAV and contents of the pack
BRUNITRAV is a liquid (a clear and colorless solution) contained in a dropper bottle made of
plastic of 5 ml with a white screw cap and a safety seal. Each bottle contains 2.5 ml of
solution. BRUNITRAV is supplied in a pack of 1 bottle or three bottles. Not all packs may be
marketed.
