Each ml of solution contains:

Indications
Local and regional trunk anesthesia for stomatological and odontiatric use.
Mepivacaine 30 mg/ml is useful in the anesthetic treatment of those subjects in whom a
vasoconstrictor is contraindicated: severe hypertensives, coronary patients, diabetics.
Contraindications
Known hypersensitivity to the components.
It is contraindicated in cases where intolerance to other local anesthetics of the same group is known
chemical.
The administration of mepivacaine is contraindicated in cases of: myasthenia gravis, low plasma rates
of cholinesterase, severe hepatic insufficiency.
Do not use in cases of ascertained or presumed pregnancy.
Appropriate precautions for use
Before use, the doctor must ascertain the patient's state of health and their conditions
circulatory; he must also inquire about ongoing therapies and any previous allergic reactions.
Any overdose of anesthetic must be avoided and never administer two
maximum doses of it without an interval of at least 24 hours having elapsed. It is
necessary, however, to use the lowest doses and concentrations that can allow to
obtain the desired effect. The anesthetic solution must be injected with caution in small
doses after about 10 seconds from a preventive aspiration. Especially when
infiltrate highly vascularized areas, it is advisable to wait about 2 minutes before
proceed with the actual loco-regional block. The patient must be kept under
accurate control immediately suspending administration at the first sign of alarm
(for example changes in sensorium).
Warning
The immediate availability of equipment for drugs and personnel suitable for emergency treatment is necessary, as rare cases have been reported, following
the use of local anesthetics, serious reactions, sometimes with fatal outcome, even in the absence of
individual hypersensitivity in the medical history.
Local anesthesia should be avoided in infected areas and in inflammation.
Interactions
No serious interactions with other drugs are known, however the drug must be used with
absolute caution in subjects undergoing treatment with MAOI drugs or tricyclic antidepressants.
Special warnings
Contraindicated in cases of ascertained or presumed pregnancy.
Dosage, method and route of administration
Adults
1 or 3 cartridges of 1.8ml per intervention, depending on the extent of the area to be anesthetized and
of the injection technique used.
Disinfect the cartridge diaphragm before use with ethyl alcohol at 70% or with
pharmaceutical grade isopropyl alcohol at 90%.
The cartridges must not be immersed in any type of solution.
It is advisable not to repeat the administration to the same patient more than once a
week.
Based on the above and considering the concentration of active ingredient per
each cartridge, the maximum amount of this that can be administered in the same
session is calculated as follows:
Mepivacaine 30 mg/ml maximum dosage for administration of n° 3 cartridges of 1.8ml.
Mepivacaine HCl: 3 x54.00mg=162.00mg
Equivalent to 2.7mg/kg of anesthetic referred to a patient of 60 kg.
Do not exceed in any case the dose of 300mg of mepivacaine per session.
Children
The dosage will be determined based on age, the importance of the intervention and will take into account
the child's weight.
The maximum dose provided is 0.025 ml of anesthetic solution per kilogram of weight. The total dose
must not exceed one ampoule per session.
The maximum dose expressed in mg of mepivacaine HCl that can be administered to the child can be
calculated as follows: child's weight (kg) x 1.33
Overdose
At the first sign of alarm, stop administration, place the patient in
horizontal position and ensure the patency of the airways by administering oxygen in
case of severe dyspnea or performing artificial ventilation (Ambu balloon). The use of
analeptics should be avoided to avoid worsening the situation by increasing oxygen consumption.
Any convulsions can be controlled with the use of diazepam at a dose of 10-20 mg
by intravenous route; barbiturates are instead discouraged as they can accentuate the depression
bulbous. Circulation can be supported by administering corticosteroids in appropriate doses
by intravenous route: dilute solutions of alpha-beta stimulants with vasoconstrictor action (mefentermine, metaraminol and others) or atropine sulfate can be added.
Sodium bicarbonate in targeted concentration can be used as an antiacid, by
intravenous route.
Undesirable effects
Side effects from high plasma levels and hypersensitivity reactions may occur.
Side effects resulting from high plasma levels on both the CNS are described
and the cardiovascular system. The effects on the CNS described are: excitation, tremors,
disorientation, dizziness, mydriasis, increased metabolism and body temperature and,
for very high doses, trismus and convulsions; if the medulla oblongata is affected, there is
participation of the cardiovascular, respiratory and emetic centers with sweating, arrhythmias,
hypertension, tachypnea, bronchodilation, nausea and vomiting. Peripheral-type effects on
the cardiovascular system are: bradycardia and vasodilation.
Allergic reactions occur mostly in hypersensitive subjects but many are reported
cases with no individual hypersensitivity in the medical history. Manifestations of a local nature
include various types of skin rashes, urticaria, itching; those of a general nature
bronchospasm, laryngeal edema up to cardiorespiratory collapse from anaphylactic shock.
If other undesirable effects related to the use of the drug occur, inform
your doctor.

See the expiry date indicated on the outer packaging.
This date refers to the product in intact packaging, stored correctly.
