information for you.
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist
has told you to do.

1. What is Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP and what is it for

Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP contains the active ingredients acetylsalicylic acid and ascorbic acid which work by reducing fever (antipyretic activity) and relieving pain (analgesic activity).
Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP is used in adults and adolescents over 16
years of agefor:

• the treatment of fever in case of influenza, respiratory tract diseases, etc.
• the treatment of pains of various origins and nature (headache, pain at the level of nerves, muscles, joints, menstrual pains).

Consult a doctor if you/the child do not feel better or if you feel worse after 3 days of treatment
(at the maximum dose) or 5-7 days.

2. What you need to know before taking Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP

Do not take Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP

• if you are allergic to acetylsalicylic acid or ascorbic acid or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6)
• if you have suffered from asthma or allergic reactions (e.g. bronchospasm, urticaria, rhinitis) induced by the administration of acetylsalicylic acid or related medicines (particularly non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs)
• if you suffer from diseases of the stomach and intestines (for example, gastroduodenal ulcer)
• if you have previously had bleeding or perforation of the stomach or intestine following the use of drugs
• if you have previously had two or more distinct episodes of ulcer or bleeding of the stomach
• if you suffer from a bleeding condition or are at risk of bleeding (haemorrhagic diathesis)
• if you suffer from severe impairment of liver or kidney function (severe hepatic or renal insufficiency )
• if you suffer from low levels of phosphates in the blood (hypophosphataemia)
• if you are after the fifth month of pregnancy (see section “Pregnancy and breastfeeding”).
• If you are under the age of 16 (see “Children and adolescents” section).

Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP:

• if you are taking other medicines containing acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (see section “Other medicines and Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP”)
• if you have a deficiency of the G6PD enzyme (Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase), a hereditary disease that affects red blood cells, because high doses of acetylsalicylic acid could lead to haemolysis (destruction of red blood cells), if you suffer from long-lasting or recurrent gastric disorders or if you suffer from liver problems.
• if you suffer from asthma or allergies that you have experienced or have experienced in the past as bronchospasm may occur. In this case, the use of this medicine is not recommended
• acetylsalicylic acid modifies the amount of uric acid in the blood. This must be taken into consideration if you suffer from gout

Children and adolescents
Donot use Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico in children and adolescents under the age of 16
because there is a risk of developing Reye's syndrome (a rare but very serious disease mainly associated
with neurological damage and liver damage).

Other medicines and Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken or might take
any other medicines.
In particular, tell your doctor if you are taking the following medicines:

• medicines that contain acetylsalicylic acid orother non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs ( NSAIDs);
• oral anticoagulants(medicines used to thin the blood), such as coumarin derivatives and heparin;
• methotrexate(medicine used for cancer or rheumatoid arthritis);
• corticosteroids(medicines used for inflammation);
• sulphonylureas(medicines used to lower blood sugar);
• diuretics(medicines used for the treatment of fluid retention), such as spironolactone and furosemide;
• angiotensin converting enzyme ( ACE inhibitors) or angiotensin II receptorblockers(medicines used to lower high blood pressure or to treat heart disease);
• medicinesused for the treatment of gout, such as probenecid and sulfinpyrazone.

Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP with food, drinks and alcohol
Take Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP on a full stomach.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant, suspect you are pregnant or are planning a pregnancy, or if you are breastfeeding with breast
milk, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Pregnancy

• Do not takeAcido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP if you are after the fifth month of pregnancy (over 24 weeks of absence of menstruation), i.e. at the beginning of the 6th monthof

pregnancy as acetylsalicylic acid can cause serious problems for the baby and
the mother even during and after labour (risk of bleeding, delays in labour,
kidney problems, cardiopulmonary toxicity).

• In the first 5 monthsof pregnancy, take Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP only after consulting your doctor. The doses and duration of treatment must be kept as low as possible.
• Avoiduse if you suspect you are pregnant or are planning a pregnancy.

Breastfeeding
During breastfeeding, take Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP only after consulting
your doctor.

Driving and operating machinery
Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP does not impair the ability to drive vehicles or operate
machinery.

Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP contains sodium
This medicine contains approximately 485 mg of sodium per tablet. Your doctor will take this into consideration if you
have impaired kidney function or if you are following a low-sodium diet.

3. How to take Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP

Take this medicine following exactly as indicated in this leaflet or as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any doubts, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Dissolve the tablet in half a glass of non-carbonated water.

Adults and adolescents over 16 years of age
The recommended dose is 1-2 tablets at a time, to be repeated if necessary up to 3-4 times a day.
The maximum dose is 8 tablets per day (24 hours) (see “If you take more Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP than you should”).

Elderly (65 years and over)
Take Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP only after consulting your doctor.

Use in children and adolescents
Donot use Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico in children and adolescents under 16 years of age.

Duration of treatment
Do not take Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP for more than 3 consecutive days (at the maximum dose) or 5-7 consecutive days without consulting your doctor.

If you take more Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP than you should
In case of accidental ingestion/intake of an excessive dose of Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP, immediately inform your doctor or go to the nearest hospital.

Symptoms
In case of accidental intake of very high doses of Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico, the symptoms you may experience include:

• feeling of dizziness
• ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
• nausea, vomiting and stomach discomfort (gastric disturbances)
• confusional states
• torpor
• collapse
• convulsions
• respiratory or kidney disorders
• bleeding. TreatmentThe doctor, based on the nature and severity of the symptoms, will carry out the appropriate supportive therapy.

If you forget to take Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

If you stop taking Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP
If you have any doubts about the use of this medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
You may experience the following side effects, for which there are not sufficient data to establish the frequency.

Effects relating to the blood

• reduction in the number of blood cells (anemia, thrombocytopenia, pancytopenia, agranulocytosis). Effects relating to the stomach and intestines
• difficulty in digestion
• abdominal pain
• nausea and vomiting
• inflammation of the stomach lining (gastritis)
• bleeding or perforation of the stomach or intestine

Effects relating to hearing

• ringing in the ears (tinnitus)

Effects relating to the immune system (the body's defense system)

• allergic reactions:
• urticaria (skin redness accompanied by itching)
• bronchospasm (difficulty breathing)
• worsening of asthma
• angioedema (swelling of hands, feet, ankles, face, lips, tongue and/or throat)
• anaphylactic shock (severe allergic reaction).

If you experience any side effects, including those not listed in this leaflet, please inform your
doctor or pharmacist. You can also report side effects directly through the Italian Medicines Agency - Website: http://www.agenziafarmaco.gov.it/it/responsabili . By reporting side effects you can help provide more information on the safety of this medicine.

5. How to store Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico COOP

Store at a temperature below 25°C.
Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the pack after Expiry. The expiry
date refers to the last day of that month.
Do not dispose of any medicine in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of
medicines you no longer use. This will help protect the environment.

6. Contents of the pack and other information

What Acido acetilsalicilico e Acido ascorbico COOP contains

• the active ingredients are: Acido acetilsalicilico and Acido ascorbico (each tablet contains 330 mg of Acido acetilsalicilico and 200 mg of Acido ascorbico)
• the other ingredients are: citric acid, glycolic acid, sodiumbicarbonate and sodiumbenzoate (see paragraph “Acido acetilsalicilico e Acido ascorbico contains sodium”).

Description of the appearance of Acido acetilsalicilico e Acido ascorbico COOP and contents of the pack
It is presented as white, flat effervescent tablets. The tablets are packaged in plastic tubes containing
20 effervescent tablets.
