information for you.
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.

1. What is VENOSMINE and what is it used for
VENOSMINE contains the active ingredient diosmin, belonging to a group of medicines called
bioflavonoids, which work by strengthening the walls of blood vessels and improving venous blood
circulation.
VENOSMINE is indicated:
- in the treatment of a condition characterized by difficult return of blood to the heart (venous insufficiency);
- to strengthen fragile capillaries.
Consult your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a short period of treatment.
2. What you need to know before using VENOSMINE
Do not use VENOSMINE
- if you are allergic to diosmin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using VENOSMINE.
Do not apply the cream if there are irritations present on the skin characterised by fluid secretions
(weeping eczema).
The use, especially if prolonged, of this medicine, as with other medicines for topical use, may lead to
sensitisation. If this happens, stop treatment and consult your doctor who will
indicate appropriate therapy.
Other medicines and VENOSMINE
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any
other medicines.
No interactions of VENOSMINE with other medicines are known.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant, suspect you may be pregnant or are planning a pregnancy, or if you are breastfeeding,
ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
The use of this medicine is not recommended during pregnancy.
Driving and operating machinery
This medicine does not impair the ability to drive and operate machinery.
VENOSMINE contains lanolin and parabens
VENOSMINE contains lanolin which may cause local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis).
This medicine also contains parabens (methyl p-hydroxybenzoate, propyl p-hydroxybenzoate) which
may cause allergic reactions (including delayed reactions).
3. How to take VENOSMINE
Take this medicine following exactly the instructions in this leaflet or as indicated by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any doubts, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Apply the cream 2 or 3 times a day to the affected area.
If you suffer from swelling due to fluid accumulation at the level of the ankles (malleolar edema)
or slowing of blood circulation in the superficial veins (superficial venous stasis), you can
help the penetration of the cream through the skin by gently massaging with movements directed from
bottom to top.
If you take more VENOSMINE than you should
In case of accidental use of an excessive dose of VENOSMINE, immediately notify your doctor or
go to the nearest hospital.
No cases of overdose have been reported.
The adverse events that may occur in cases of overdose are gastrointestinal events (such as
diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain) and skin events (such as itching, rash).

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The following side effects may occur:
Rare:(may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people)
- stomach pain (gastralgia), nausea, diarrhoea;
- dizziness. The following effects or adverse reactions have been reported and have been classified according to the following frequency: very common (>1/10); common (>1/100, <1>1/1,000, <1>1/10,000, <1>
- Gastrointestinal disorders: Rare: gastralgia, nausea, diarrhoea.
- Nervous system disorders: Rare: dizziness.
- Undesirable effects, reported below, have been observed for the active substance:
- Nervous system disorders: Rare: headache, malaise.
- Gastrointestinal disorders: Common: dyspepsia, vomiting.
- Uncommon: colitis
- Not known: abdominal pain
- Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: Rare: rash, pruritus, urticaria.
- Not known: facial, lip, eyelid swelling; angioedema.
- Blood and lymphatic system disorders: Not known: thrombocytopenia
Reporting of side effects
If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. You can also report side effects directly through the

By reporting side effects you can help provide more information on the safety of
this medicine.
5. How to store VENOSMINE
Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the packaging after “Exp”.
The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Keep the container tightly closed.
Do not dispose of any medicine in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of
medicines you no longer use. This will help protect the environment.
6. Package Contents and Other Information
What VENOSMINE contains
The active ingredient is diosmin. 100 g of cream contain 4 g of diosmin.
The other ingredients are: semi-synthetic glycerides (softisan 100), anionic emulsifying wax (lanette SX),
anhydrous lanolin, polysorbate 80, dimethyl polysiloxane 100, dimethyl polysiloxane 500, methyl p-hydroxybenzoate,
propyl p-hydroxybenzoate, lemon essence, purified water.

Bioflavonoids, capillaroprotective substances.
Symptoms attributable to venous insufficiency; states of capillary fragility.
Hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or to any of the excipients.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
There are no particular precautions for the use of VENOSMINE.
So far, no particular interactions have been detected.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have recently taken any other
medicinal product, even those without a prescription.
Important information about some excipients of VENOSMINE 450 mg powder for oral suspension.
The medicine contains fructose. If your doctor has diagnosed you with an intolerance to some
sugars, contact him before taking this medicine.
Use in Pregnancy
The safety of the drug in pregnancy has not been determined, therefore it is advisable not to
administer the medicine during pregnancy.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding

DOSAGE, METHOD AND DURATION OF ADMINISTRATION
One tablet or the contents of one sachet twice a day, at regular intervals,
unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor.
METHOD OF USE
Tablets: swallow the tablet with the help of a small amount of water.
Sachets: disperse the contents of one sachet in a little water (about half a
glass) by stirring.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist for further clarification on the use of
the medicine.
OVERDOSE
In case of accidental ingestion of an excessive dose of VENOSMINE, immediately inform
your doctor or go to the nearest hospital.
Adverse events that may occur in cases of overdose are gastrointestinal events
(such as diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain) and skin events (such as itching, rash).

UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, VENOSMINE can cause side effects, although not everyone
will experience them.
Rarely, the use of VENOSMINE, at the recommended doses in therapy, gives rise to side
effects.
However, rare cases of gastralgia, nausea, diarrhea, dizziness are reported, always of mild
severity and not requiring discontinuation of treatment.
The following effects or adverse reactions have been reported and have been classified according to the following
frequency: very common (>1/10); common (>1/100, <1>1/1.000, <1>(>1/10.000, <1>basis of available data).
Gastrointestinal disorders: Rare: gastralgia, nausea, diarrhea.
Nervous system disorders: Rare: dizziness.
Undesirable effects, reported below, have been observed for the active ingredient:
