1. What is Myditin and what is it used for
Myditin is a medicine with a relaxing effect on muscles. This effect occurs
through the central nervous system.
Myditin is used in adults for the treatment of muscle tensions similar to cramps (central and peripheral
muscle spasms):
- Pain in the lower back (lumbago)
- Neck spasms (torticollis)
- General muscle pain
2. What you need to know before you take Myditin
Do not take Myditin
if you are allergic to pyridinol or any of the other ingredients of this
medicine (listed in section 6)
if you have any of the following diseases:
- Glaucoma
- Benign enlargement of the prostate tissue (urinary retention)
- Blockage of the gastrointestinal tract
- Irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia)
- during the first 3 months of pregnancy
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Myditin.
Pay particular attention

In these circumstances, the active ingredient may be found free in your body in
higher concentrations and/or for a longer period than usual.
- If you are 65 years of age or older
- If you suffer from low blood pressure, as the risk of circulatory problems (fainting) may be increased.
Other medicines and Myditin
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might
take any other medicines.
Myditin enhances the effect of medicines belonging to the group of anticholinergics. These
include, for example, some medicines used for the treatment of overactive prostate,
urinary incontinence, asthma and Parkinson's disease. See also section 4.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility
If you are pregnant, suspect you are pregnant, are planning a pregnancy, or are
breastfeeding with breast milk, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this
medicine.
Do not take Myditin during the first trimester of pregnancy. During the subsequent months of
pregnancy, you may only take Myditin after careful medical evaluation, under medical supervision
and only if absolutely necessary.
During the entire breastfeeding period, you may only take Myditin on medical prescription.
Driving and using machines
A possible side effect of Myditin is temporary vision problems. If
you experience vision problems, do not drive vehicles, use machines or perform
any other dangerous activity.
Myditin contains lactose
If your doctor has diagnosed you with intolerance to some sugars, contact him before
taking this medicine.
3. How to take Myditin
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
If you have any doubts, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dose is:
From half to one tablet (1.5-3 mg of pridinol) 3 times a day.
Use in children and adolescents
No data are available on the use of pridinol in children and adolescents.
Method of administration
Myditin is for oral use.
Take the tablets without chewing them and with a sufficient amount of liquid (preferably
1 glass of water [200 ml]).
Taking is independent of meals. The onset of effect is faster when the
medicine is taken before meals.

However, if you suffer from low blood pressure, take the tablet after a meal to reduce the risk
of fainting.
Duration of treatment
Treatment may be necessary for a prolonged period. The doctor will decide how long
you should take Myditin.
If you take more Myditin than you should
Report this to your doctor. The doctor can establish the necessary measures. The undesirable effects
listed in paragraph 4 may occur more severely.
If you forget to take Myditin
Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed tablet. Continue to
take the medicine as prescribed by your doctor or as described in the dosage instructions.
If you stop taking Myditin
The original symptoms may reappear. Inform your doctor in this case as well. If you have
any doubts about the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
4. Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them.
At the established doses, side effects are from rare to common and generally disappear
after a dose reduction or after discontinuation of treatment.
The following side effects may occur, especially during the concurrent use of
certain medicines (anticholinergic medicines):
Dry mouth, feeling of thirst, temporary vision problems (dilated pupils, focusing problems, sensitivity to light, slight increase in eye pressure),
redness and dryness of the skin, changes in heart rate (slowed heartbeat followed by accelerated heartbeat), problems with urination (urinary disturbances), constipation and, very rarely, vomiting, dizziness and unstable gait.
Possible side effects
Not common (may affect up to 1 in 100 people)
- Fast heartbeat (tachycardia), circulatory-level reactions, low blood pressure
- Nausea, abdominal pain, dry mouth
- Fatigue and feeling of weakness (asthenia)
- Dizziness, headache, altered speech
- Restlessness
Rare (may affect up to 1 in 1000 people)
- Impaired ability to focus
- Diarrhea, vomiting
- Hypersensitivity reactions such as itching, skin redness, swelling or shortness of breath
- Impairment of attention, coordination and taste
- Anxiety, depression
Not known (frequency cannot be estimated based on available data)

- Irregular heartbeat
- Glaucoma crisis in angle-closure glaucoma
- Heat accumulation
- Muscle weakness
- Tremor of a hand, skin problems (such as thinning, burns, numbness)
- Hallucinations
- Urinary problems

5. How to store Myditin
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the package and on the blister
after Exp. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
Do not store at a temperature above 25°C.
Do not dispose of any medicine in waste water or household waste. Ask your pharmacist
how to dispose of medicines you no longer use. This will help protect the environment.
6. Contents of the pack and other information
What Myditin contains
- The active ingredient is pridinol. One tablet contains 3.02 mg of pridinol as 4 mg of pridinol mesylate.
- The other ingredients are: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, hydrogenated castor oil, talc, povidone K30, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate.
Description of the appearance of Myditin and contents of the pack
The tablets are white, round and with a score line on one side. The tablet
can be divided into two equal doses.
Packs of 20, 50 and 100 tablets.
Hospital packs of 200 (10x20), 500 (10x50) and 1000 (10x100) tablets.
Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
