Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.

1. What Plak Out is and what it is used for
Plak Out contains chlorhexidine digluconate, a disinfectant for local oral use that acts on the mucous membrane of the
mouth.
Plak Out is indicated for disinfecting the mouth, gums and throat of adultsin cases of difficult oral
hygiene.
See your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a short period of treatment.
2. What you need to know before you use Plak Out
Do not use Plak Out
- if you are allergic to chlorhexidine digluconate or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using Plak Out.
Use, especially if prolonged, of products for local use can cause allergic reactions (see
section “Possible side effects”). If this happens, stop treatment and consult your doctor who
will establish appropriate therapy.
Use Plak Out exclusively for local use, without swallowing.
If you accidentally ingest or inhale this medicine, consult your doctor or the nearest hospital
as the accidental ingestion or inhalation of some disinfectants can have serious, sometimes
fatal consequences (see section 3 “If you use more Plak Out than you should”).
Avoid contact with eyes.
The medicine is not contraindicated for subjects affected by celiac disease.
For athletes
Plak Out contains ethyl alcohol which may result in positive doping tests in relation to the concentration limits of
alcohol in the blood indicated by some sports federations.
Children and adolescents
This medicine should be used only when necessary and only after consulting a doctor.
Other medicines and Plak Out
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any
other medicines.
Avoid the simultaneous use of other disinfectants and cleansers of the mouth, gums and throat.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant, suspect you are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding with breast
milk, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Use this medicine only when necessary and only after consulting a doctor.
Driving and operating machinery
Plak Out does not affect the ability to drive vehicles or operate machinery.
3. How to use Plak Out
Take this medicine following exactly as indicated in this leaflet or as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any doubts, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dose is 10 ml of Plak out 2-3 times a day.
The maximum dose is 3 rinses a day (corresponding to 36 mg of active substance).
Warning: do not exceed the recommended doses.
Use Plak out starting with short-duration rinses (10-15 seconds).
It is advisable to perform rinses after meals, only for the period necessary.
The disinfectant action will increase with the extension of the rinse duration up to 3-4 minutes.
Consult your doctor if the disorder occurs repeatedly or if you have noticed any recent change in its characteristics.
Take Plak Out in pure form (without diluting it with water):
- 1) Unscrew the cap from the bottle and use it as a measuring device (the measuring cap contains 10 ml).
- 2) Fill the cap with the solution and rinse your mouth
Use in children and adolescents
This medicine should be used only when necessary and only after consulting a doctor.
If you use more Plak Out than you should
It is unlikely that you will use an excessive dose of this medicine. However, if you accidentally use an excessive dose of Plak Out, consult your doctor immediately or go to the nearest hospital.
Accidental ingestion or inhalation of some disinfectants can have serious, sometimes fatal consequences. In case of accidental ingestion of the product, consult your doctor immediately, or go to the nearest hospital.
If you forget to use Plak Out
Do not use a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
If you stop using Plak Out
If you have any doubts about the use of this medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
4. Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them

- mild alteration of taste (following rinsing)
- slight yellowish discoloration on the tongue and teeth, following continuous use at high doses. The discoloration of the tongue disappears by reducing the frequency and duration of rinsing, while a good toothpaste is sufficient to eliminate the pigmentation of the enamel.

doctor or pharmacist. You can also report side effects directly through the national reporting system at

medicine.
5. How to store Plak Out
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
This medicine does not require any special storage conditions.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date that is stated on the pack after Exp. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Do not dispose of any medicine in waste water or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines you no longer use. This will help protect the environment.
6. Contents of the pack and other information
What Plak out contains
- The active ingredient is chlorhexidine digluconate. 100 ml of solution contains 0.120 g of chlorhexidine digluconate.
- The other ingredients are: lycasine, ethanol 96%, polidocanol, peppermint essential oil, colourant E124, purified water.
Description of the appearance of Plak Out and contents of the pack
Plak Out 0.12% solution for oral mucosa appears as a clear, light red solution
contained in a 150 ml plastic bottle.
