1. What is VERIZINA and what is it used for
VERIZINA contains two active ingredients. One is cinnarizine and the other is dimenidrinate. The two substances
belong to different groups of medicines. Cinnarizine belongs to the group of
calcium channel blockers, while dimenidrinate belongs to a group of medicines called
antihistamines.
Both substances work by reducing the symptoms of vertigo (a sensation of dizziness
or spinning) and nausea (feeling sick). When these two substances are used in
combination, they are more effective than using each one individually.
VERIZINA is used for the treatment of various types of vertigo in adults. Vertigo can have a
number of different causes. The use of VERIZINA can help to carry out daily activities made difficult
by the presence of vertigo.
2. What you need to know before using VERIZINA

- if you are under 18 years of age
- if you are allergic to cinnarizine, dimenidrinate or diphenhydramine or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6)
- if you are allergic to any other antihistamine (such as astemizole, chlorpheniramine and terfenadine, used as anti-allergic medicines). You should not take this medicine unless it has been prescribed to you by your doctor
- if you suffer from closed-angle glaucoma (a particular type of eye disease)
- if you have epilepsy
