1. What is MASTER-AID Disinfectant and what is it used for
MASTER-AID Disinfectant contains the active ingredient chlorhexidine digluconate, which belongs to the category
of biguanides and is a disinfectant for topical (local) dermatological (cutaneous) use.
It acts on the bacterial cell membrane causing it to rupture.
MASTER-AID Disinfectant is used for the disinfection and cleaning of skin in the presence of wounds and
superficial burns and pressure ulcers (skin lesions affecting parts of the body subjected to
prolonged pressure) of mild severity.
Consult your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse.
2. What you need to know before using MASTER-AID Disinfectant
Do not use MASTER-AID Disinfectant
- if you are allergic to chlorhexidine digluconate or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using MASTER-AID Disinfectant.
Do not use MASTER-AID Disinfectant for prolonged treatments; after a short period of treatment without
noticeable results, consult your doctor. Accidental ingestion or inhalation of some disinfectants can
have serious, sometimes fatal, consequences. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not expose the treated area to
direct sunlight after applying the product. The product must not come into contact with the
brain, the meninges (membranes that cover the central nervous system) and the middle ear (part
of the ear between the outer and inner ear) or penetrate inside the ear canal in case of
tympanic perforation.

The product is for external use only; the use, especially if prolonged, of topical products can give rise to
sensitization phenomena, in which case discontinue treatment and consult your doctor to establish
appropriate therapy.
Children
MASTER-AID Disinfectant can cause chemical burns, especially in newborns.
Other medicines and MASTER-AID Disinfectant
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any
other medicines.
Avoid the simultaneous use of other antiseptics (antibacterial agents) and detergents.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant, suspect you are pregnant or are planning a pregnancy, or if you are breastfeeding,
ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
MASTER-AID Disinfectant can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Driving and operating machinery
It does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery.
Important information about some excipients
MASTER-AID Disinfectant contains citrus aroma which in turn contains citral, citronellol, coumarin,
farnesol, geraniol, limonene, linalool.
Citral, citronellol, coumarin, farnesol, geraniol, limonene, linalool may cause allergic reactions.
3. How to use MASTER-AID Disinfectant
Use this medicine following exactly as stated in this leaflet or as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any doubts, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Apply 2-3 times a day to the affected area a quantity of solution adequate to the extent of the
lesion.
Do not exceed the indicated doses without the advice of your doctor.
Use only for short periods of treatment.
If you use more MASTER-AID Disinfectant than you should
In case of ingestion/accidental intake of MASTER-AID Disinfectant, immediately notify your
doctor or go to the nearest hospital.
4. Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
It is possible, in some cases, to experience intolerance (burning or irritation), which is generally harmless and does not require a change in treatment. A few rare cases of idiosyncrasy (intolerance) have been reported with chlorhexidine.

5. How to store MASTER-AID Disinfettante
Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the packaging after Exp. The expiry date refers to
the product in intact packaging, correctly stored.
Keep the container tightly closed, protected from light and in a cool place.
Do not dispose of any medicine in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to eliminate
medicines that you no longer use. This will help protect the environment.

What MASTER-AID Disinfectant contains
- The active ingredient is chlorhexidine digluconate. 100 ml of solution contains 1 g of chlorhexidine digluconate.
- The other ingredients are citrus essence, purified water.
