1. What is DROPILTON and what is it used for
DROPILTON is an eye drop that contains the active substance pilocarpine, which works by promoting the natural
outflow of fluid from inside the eye into the bloodstream, lowering the internal pressure
of the eye.
This medicine is used for the treatment of simple chronic glaucoma, a disease that causes an
increase in eye pressure and which, over time, could damage vision. DROPILTON can
also be used in the treatment of acute glaucoma, but only in emergency surgical cases or in
combination with other medicines (miotics or carbonic anhydrase inhibitors).
2. What you need to know before using DROPILTON
Do not use DROPILTON
- if you are allergic to pilocarpine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
- if you have inflammation of the eye (acute iritis).
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using DROPILTON.
During treatment, undergo periodic checks of your eye pressure to avoid
problems with your vision (deterioration of visual acuity with changes in the visual field).
If you notice the appearance of allergic reactions, stop treatment with this medicine and consult your
doctor.

In early infancy, the product should only be used in cases of actual need and always under
strict medical supervision.
Other medicines and DROPILTON
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other
medicines, including those obtained without a prescription.
Inform your doctor or anesthesiologist that you are using DROPILTON before undergoing a
surgical operation, as pilocarpine may potentiate the effects of muscle relaxants, a group of drugs used
during anesthesia.
