Read this leaflet carefully before you start using this medicine as it contains important
information for you.
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or
pharmacist has told you.

1. What is DI MILL and what is it used for
DI MILL is an eye drop containing benzalkonium chloride, a disinfectant (antibacterial).
This medicine is used to disinfect the eye when it is irritated by dust, smoke or smog.
See your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse.
2. What you need to know before using DI MILL
Do not use DI MILL
- if you are allergic to the active ingredient or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
- in children under 12 years of age.
Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using DI MILL.
Do not use for prolonged treatments; consult your doctor if after a few days of treatment you do not
notice any improvement.
Avoid application if you have problems with a part of the eye called the “cornea” (inflammations, wounds
or corneal abrasions).
The use, especially if prolonged, of products for local (topical) use can give rise to phenomena of
sensitization (excessive reaction of the organism to foreign substances with which it has come into contact).
In such cases stop the treatmentand consult your doctor to start appropriate therapy.
Accidental ingestion or inhalation of some disinfectants can have serious, sometimes
fatal consequences (see section 3 “If you use more DI MILL than you should”). In case of accidental ingestion
consult a doctor immediately.
The product is for external use only and therefore should not be ingested.
Other medicines and DI MILL
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take
any other medicines.
Avoid the simultaneous use of other disinfectants and detergents.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant, suspect you are pregnant or are planning a pregnancy, or if you are breastfeeding with
breast milk, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
Driving and operating machinery
This medicine does not impair the ability to drive vehicles or operate machinery.
DI MILL contains benzalkonium chloride (See section WARNINGS and precautions)
This medicine contains 0.006 mg of benzalkonium chloride per dose equivalent to 0.1 mg/ml.
Benzalkonium chloride can be absorbed by soft contact lenses and can lead to a change
in their color. Remove contact lenses before using this medicine and wait 15 minutes before
reapplying them.
Benzalkonium chloride can also cause eye irritation, especially if you have dry eyes or
corneal disorders (the outermost transparent layer of the eye). If you experience an
abnormal sensation in the eye, burning or pain after using this medicine, talk to your doctor.
3. How to use DI MILL
Use this medicine following exactly as stated in this leaflet or as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any doubts, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dose is 2 drops in each eye to be instilled 2 or 3 times a day.
Do not exceed the recommended doses.
Use only for short periods of treatment.
For correct use:
During instillation, avoid touching your eyes with the tip of the dropper of this medicine.
Do not use this medicine while wearing contact lenses.
Avoid contact with soft contact lenses. Remove the contact lenses before application and
wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.
A decolorizing action on soft contact lenses is known.
If you use more DI MILL than you should
At the recommended doses and in case of correct use (instillation into the eye), no symptoms of
overdose are known.
In case of accidental ingestion, nausea and vomiting may occur.
If you have accidentally ingested this medicine immediately notify your doctor or go to the
nearest hospitalas you may experience serious consequences such as:
- difficulty or blockage of the ability to breathe (dyspnea, cyanosis, asphyxia) due to blockage of the muscles that allow breathing;
- depression of the central nervous system;
- lowering of blood pressure (arterial);
- coma.
4. Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
This medicine may cause a burning sensation and irritation of the eyes (intolerance). These
symptoms should not cause concern, as they are harmless.

5. How to store DI MILL
This medicine does not require any particular storage conditions.
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
This medicine must not be used for more than 15 days after first opening.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date that is stated on the pack after “Exp.”. The expiry
date refers to the last day of that month.
Do not dispose of any medicine in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how
to dispose of medicines you no longer use. This will help protect the environment.
6. Contents of the pack and other information
What DI MILL contains
- The active ingredient is benzalkonium chloride. 1 ml of eye drops contains 0.1 mg of benzalkonium chloride.
- The other components are sodium chloride, sterile distilled water of Matricaria Chamomillaand of Hamamelis Virginiana, and purified water.

DI MILL is presented as a solution in a 10 ml bottle with a dropper nozzle.
