Becozym belongs to the therapeutic category of vitaminics, based on vitamin B complex.
Becozym is used to prevent vitamin B deficiency:
- in case of increased need for vitamin B (for example during pregnancy or breastfeeding,
- in case of insufficient absorption of vitamin B (digestive disorders),
- in case of dietary imbalances (uniform diets),
It is also used in the treatment of:
- glossitis (inflammation of the tongue),
- cheilitis (inflammation of the lips),
- anorexia - loss of appetite - (for example during febrile conditions) with weight loss,
- delayed growth in children,
- asthenia (weakness),
- in case of prolonged antibiotic therapy,
- intestinal absorption disorders during gastro-enteric diseases,
- as an adjunct in hepatopathies (liver diseases) and neuritis (inflammation of nerves, accompanied by pain and numbness),
- treatment of the aftermath of chronic alcoholism attributable to a vitamin deficiency.

Warnings and precautions
Becozym_PIL_ 11b
1
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Becozym.
Do not exceed the recommended doses as an overdose may increase the risk of adverse
effects. Pay particular attention to taking the same vitamins from all other possible sources including fortified foods, dietary supplements and concomitant medicines
(see section 3).
Becozym must be used for the treatment of vitamin B deficiency only if this is of
dietary origin and not in patients with atrophic gastritis (inflammation of the stomach mucosa), disorders of the ileum (intestinal) or pancreas and gastrointestinal malabsorption
of vitamin B or intrinsic factor deficiency (a substance produced by the stomach
essential for the absorption of vitamin B).
The yellowing of urine after administration of Becozym is due to vitamin
B2 (riboflavin).
Patients with severe renal impairment should consult a doctor before taking
Becozym because dosage adjustment may be necessary.
Particular attention should be paid to the daily dosage of vitamin B6.
Inform your doctor if you are taking Becozym and need to undergo laboratory diagnostic tests
because Vitamin B1 and Vitamin B6 contained in the medicine may
interfere with the laboratory test for the determination of urobilinogen in urine.
Other medicines and Becozym
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might
take any other medicines.
Patients receiving other mono- or multivitamin preparations, any other medicine or
following a restricted diet or are undergoing medical treatment, should consult
a doctor before taking this medicine.
Potential interactions with the following medicines have been reported:
- Levodopa(medicine for the treatment of Parkinson's disease); this interaction is due to the presence of Vitamin B6 in the medicine. However, this interaction does not occur when levodopa is used together with carbidopa (medicine used together with Levodopa for the treatment of Parkinson's disease);
- Chloramphenicol(an antibiotic); this interaction is due to the presence of Vitamin B12 in the medicine.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant, suspect you are pregnant or are planning a pregnancy, or if you
are breastfeeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking
this medicine.
Becozym should be administered during pregnancy and breastfeeding only when clinically
indicated and recommended by your doctor.
The recommended dose should not be exceeded as chronic overdose may
be harmful to the foetus and newborn.
Particular attention should be paid to the concomitant intake of vitamins from all
other sources.

The recommended dose is:
Adults and children over 12 years:
For therapeutic use: 2-3 gastro-resistant tablets per day.
In antibacterial treatments: as a preventative treatment, 1 gastro-resistant tablet per
day.
For oral use. Swallow the gastro-resistant tablets whole, without chewing, with some liquid.
Use in children
Becozym is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
If you take more Becozym than you should
If used correctly, this product does not cause overdose.
If you take Becozym, you should pay attention to the concomitant intake of vitamins from all
other sources.
Common manifestations of an overdose may include: confusion and
gastrointestinal disorders such as constipation, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.
If these symptoms occur, stop treatment and consult a doctor.
An acute or prolonged overdose of Becozym (for example, taking up to 10 times the
recommended dose) can cause specific toxicity phenomena associated with Vitamin B6.
The clinical signs, symptoms, diagnostic findings and consequences of an overdose are
very diverse and depend on individual susceptibility and the circumstances of the case.
The daily administration of more than 200 mg of vitamin B (pyridoxine) (corresponding to
more than 20 Becozym tablets per day) for several months or years can lead to symptoms of
neuropathy (a disease of the nervous system). If these symptoms appear, stop the
treatment and consult a doctor.
In case of accidental intake of an excessive dose of Becozym, immediately notify your
doctor or go to the nearest hospital.
If you have any doubts about the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
